271 17th Street Office Building

Kimley-Horn provided stormwater and land development services for the 271 17th Street office building in the Atlantic Station development in Atlanta, GA.

Atlantic Station is one of the country’s largest mixed-use brownfield developments, spanning over 150 acres in Midtown Atlanta. Kimley-Horn has been integrally involved in Atlantic Station since it’s inception, including our stormwater and land development services provided for this 29-story office building.

Located in Atlantic Station, the 271 17th Street office building is one of the newest additions to the Midtown Atlanta skyline. Completed in 2009, the tower is integrated in the 7,300-space Atlantic Station parking deck and provides additional parking for the office tenants both below and above street level. As part of this project, Kimley-Horn provided site civil engineering services and designed utility service connections suspended within the parking deck structure and stormwater detention within the tower footprint. This 535,000-square-foot Class-A office building achieved LEED-CS Gold certification, contributing to the sustainable vision of Atlantic Station.

As Atlantic Station continues to develop, Kimley-Horn has served as the design engineer on three high-rise developments designed to anchor the community. We have provided the following services:

  • Site civil engineering
  • Traffic engineering
  • LEED consultation
  • Permitting assistance
  • Construction phase services

Over the years, Kimley-Horn has demonstrated a keen awareness of local requirements, tremendous technical ability, and creative solutions to design challenges through their depth of resources over a wide range of services. Above all, they approach every project with a client-focused, proactive and positive ‘can do’ attitude. They are truly a pleasure to work with.
