Should Commercial Real Estate Owners Install Electric Vehicle Chargers?
Kimley-Horn’s Jose Correa Explains Benefits
Presenting to commercial real estate professionals at NAIOP CRE.Converge, Jose Correa said now is the time to prepare for the electric vehicle (EV) revolution. As auto manufacturers from General Motors to Rolls Royce continue to announce new electric models and plans to eliminate tailpipe emissions, there is an increasing need to enhance EV charging infrastructure.
EV charging stations can be a differentiator for shopping centers, malls, retailers, and hotels where drivers see value in charging their vehicle while going about their days.
Implementing EV charging stations (EVCS) isn’t as simple as plug and play, so Correa encourages developers to collaborate with utility providers well in advance to plan for building out charging networks.
