I-215 / Van Buren Interchange PA&ED and PS&E
Kimley-Horn provided final design services (PS&E) for the reconstruction of I-215/Van Buren Boulevard Interchange, located near the City of Moreno Valley. Prior to the final design phase, Kimley-Horn prepared the Project Report (PR) and Environmental Document (ED) for the project.
The interchange reconstruction includes two new bridge structures, a freeway overcrossing and a railroad overhead. It also includes freeway realignment, new auxiliary lanes, ramp reconfigurations, relocation of a high-pressure gas line, right-of-way acquisition, traffic signals, ramp metering, guide signs, lighting, pavement delineation, and traffic staging. Reports produced in this project include the SWDR, Hydrology/Drainage Report, Design Exception Fact Sheets, Modified Access Report, Transportation Management Plan, project feature maps, right-of-way requirements, and Traffic Report.
This project required extensive coordination with the project stakeholders, including Riverside County, Caltrans, RCTC, City of Riverside, March JPA, and BNSF.
