He has led research on aggregates and asphalt materials, conducted forensic evaluations, and provided expert witness services. His work spans pavement design, evaluation, asset management, and quality control for public and private clients. He began his career in geotechnical engineering, focusing on asphalt binder research and testing, and continues to specialize in materials engineering, Superpave design, and pavement performance analysis.
