Kimley-Horn provided full landscape architecture and site civil engineering services for the Denver Premium Outlets shopping center in Thornton, CO.

The Denver Premium Outlets brings nearly 400,000 square feet of retail development on a 50-acre site in Thornton, Colorado. The new shopping center is conveniently located along I-25 in the northern part of the Denver metro area and offers more than 60 stores and restaurants. Kimley-Horn provided full landscape architecture and site civil engineering, and electrical design services for the development of the center.

Landscape Architecture

Our team’s scope of work included detailed hardscape layout and landscape design for both the interior public spaces and the exterior parking areas of the Denver Premium Outlets. Amenities designed include a lagoon-type water feature with fountain jets, an infinity-edge fountain, raised planters and seatwalls, large urban entries, intimate gathering spaces, and a 100,000-square-foot outdoor urban park with a children’s play area, which will regularly host live music and other entertainment offerings.

Site Civil Engineering

Kimley-Horn also provided full site civil services for the overall 90-acre project and layout outparcels—from facilitation of preliminary entitlement processing to preparation of final construction documents. Specific services included conceptual site plan, project visualization, development permit documents, overlot grading plans, off-site improvements, construction phase services, and final entitlement, civil construction, and landscape architecture construction documents. Kimley-Horn’s electrical team provided roadway lighting, site lighting, and utility coordination to serve Denver Premium Outlets.
