Sedona Roadway Project Named as APWA 2021 Public Works Project of the Year

Kimley-Horn is proud to announce that the Uptown Sedona Roadway Improvements project in Sedona, Arizona was recognized among the 2021 Top 22 Public Works Projects of the Year. The American Public Works Association (APWA) awarded the project with the Small Cities/Rural Communities Project of the Year: Transportation award. Each year, APWA selects top projects that demonstrate excellence in public works, promoting strong interpersonal relationships, excellent project management and administration, and exceptional work across disciplines.

Kimley-Horn's team proved to be an invaluable asset during the design of our Uptown Roadway Improvements Project. Their expertise in multiple areas including roadway, roundabout design, and landscape architecture were instrumental in the success of the project and ultimately led to us receiving the APWA Project of the Year for Small Cities/Rural Communities in Transportation."

Developed from the Kimley-Horn-led Sedona Transportation Master Plan, this award-winning roadway improvement project was the first of the Sedona In Motion (SIM) transportation initiative. Kimley-Horn provided final design services, reducing congestion and travel time through a critical Sedona corridor, and improving overall safety and operations.
