Matt Horton Named to Mass Transit’s 40 Under 40
Matt Horton, AICP, has been named one of Mass Transit magazine’s 2026 40 Under 40 honorees, a recognition given to influential young professionals working in public transit.
Matt was honored with this award for his unique contributions to the industry and the positive impact his work has had on communities. Since joining Kimley-Horn in 2012, he has built a reputation as a trusted advisor to public agencies, pairing data-driven planning with operational insight to help clients deliver transit investments that better serve riders.
Matt has supported transformative transit initiatives across the country, including high-capacity transit planning for Oklahoma City’s next Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) investment. His work has articulated long-range mobility visions, aligned stakeholder priorities with funding sources, and built momentum for projects that meaningfully improve the rider experience.
Serving in a variety of leadership roles, from Kimley-Horn’s firmwide BRT Growth Strategy committee to leading a local team of transit professionals in San Diego, Matt is committed to expanding transit opportunities for communities.
