Kimley-Horn Recognized as One of the 2026 PEOPLE® Companies that Care

We are celebrating once again being named to the PEOPLE Companies that Care list, earning the honor for the fourth time. The list recognizes U.S. companies that go above and beyond to drive positive change in the workplace and in their communities.

This year’s honor reflects how Kimley-Horn continues to be guided by our Core Value of Sharing & Caring and our Core Purpose of providing an environment where our people can flourish. We do this by growing alongside our people—expanding the benefits that support their needs, deepening support for employees giving back to their communities, and building sustainability into the projects that shape those communities for the long term.

A Passion for our People

At Kimley-Horn, our people are our top priority, and our people-first culture has guided our firm through decades of success. To reflect that investment, we offer exceptional benefits that build the foundation of an environment where our people can flourish, supporting each employee at every stage of life and spanning physical and mental health, financial wellbeing, family, and future. From comprehensive benefits and strong retirement contributions to special bonus programs and career development opportunities, our firm is committed to helping each employee thrive.

We believe a meaningful career and a fulfilling family life go hand in hand, and we’re proud to support our employees as they build both. We invest in long-term career growth through a wide range of professional development and technical training programs designed to help employees build successful careers. For those growing their families, we provide adoption assistance, surrogacy assistance, and fertility support, and we recently tripled the length of our New Parent Leave, giving every eligible new parent more time at home.

That same belief shapes how we support our employees’ well-being and growth. Beyond our free Employee Assistance Program, we partnered with Rula in 2026 to offer same- or next-day appointments with licensed providers, virtually or in person, alongside co-hosted webinars on topics from self-care to managing burnout.

Additionally, caring for our people means investing in their long-term financial wellbeing. Our 401(k) plan has historically offered an employer contribution of 16 to 18 percent, featuring a 2-for-1 match on employee contributions up to 4 percent. Employees can also apply student loan repayments toward all or part of the 4 percent contribution while still earning the full firm match. And when the firm performs well, we share that success with the people who make it possible through our KH My Way Dollars bonus program, which provides monetary bonuses throughout the year for whatever matters most to our people.

Giving Back Together

The communities where we live and work shape who we are and how we serve. Through the Kimley-Horn Foundation, established in 2000, we invest in those communities and champion employee volunteerism.

In 2025, the Foundation contributed nearly $2 million to community organizations nationwide, including more than 160 grants totaling $455,400 through our Volunteer Grant Program, which supports organizations where our employees actively volunteer and whose work aligns with Foundation priorities, such as environmental conservation and STEM education.

That spirit also came to life firmwide through Kindness Counts, a challenge to log 10,000 acts of everyday kindness in 100 days to earn a $1 million Foundation donation to local chapters of Feeding America. By the end of the challenge, our employees had surpassed the initial goal, logging more than 11,000 acts of kindness.

Sustainable Solutions for Tomorrow

Another aspect of the PEOPLE Companies that Care recognition is sustainability efforts, which are woven into our culture and our work. By delivering creative, sustainable infrastructure solutions, we continue advancing our clients’ long-term sustainability goals, helping to protect the resources around us with thoughtful planning and responsible design.
