Parking & Mobility Features Six Kimley-Horn Experts

Parking & Mobility’s May 2023 issue is jam-packed with Kimley-Horn expertise on parking garages, technology, and electric vehicles (EV).

Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Article

Robert Ferrin, CAPP, and Jeffrey Sallee, P.E., co-authored “How Vehicle-to-Grid Technology Creates Passive Income and Eases the Burden of EV Regulations” with Fermata Energy. The article explores the electrification of parking and transportation programs and new revenue opportunities from V2G bidirectional charging systems.

Parking and Expert Spotlights

The magazine’s “Parking Spotlight” featured our University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Tropicana Parking Garage expansion, led by Ken Ackeret, P.E., PTOE, Ph.D.; Ben Henderson, P.E., SE; and Thomas Ackeret, P.E., PTOE. Kimley-Horn oversaw each phase of the expansion as the client’s trusted advisor, helping stakeholders manage timelines, budgets, and design and construction meetings to create the iconic parking garage.

Last but not least, Nick Mazzenga, P.E., was featured in “Ask the Experts,” where he discussed the usage of smartphones in modern parking practices and how there is still a need to serve the 15% of Americans without smartphones.
