Nimitz Lake is a long, narrow body of water that is an important resource for residents and visitors of Kerrville, TX. Thanks to a new boating center for sailing, rowing, standup paddle boarding, and more, Nimitz Lake could soon offer more recreational opportunities and is better positioned for retail and residential growth.

For several months, Kimley-Horn worked with the City of Kerrville and other project partners to learn what’s important to the community and study similar boating centers. Since Nimitz Lake is a dammed body of water on the Guadalupe River, extra precautions needed to be taken to protect the harbor from floodwaters and meet the community’s needs within the limited available space.

Hear from Kimley-Horn project manager Austin Powers about what makes Nimitz Lake an exciting community attraction.
