We are expanding to better serve our clients! Kimley-Horn is excited to share the growth of our Florida region with the addition of our 14th and 15th offices in the state: St. Petersburg and Gainesville.
St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg is Kimley-Horn’s third office in the Tampa Bay area, strengthening our presence on the west coast alongside our Sarasota and Tampa offices. We have transitioned 16 employees to the new location—offering integrated water, transportation planning, landscape architecture, resiliency, and development services—and have plans to expand further. The team will continue to work in partnership with the City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, and the surrounding areas, offering top-notch professionals with in-house capabilities to provide exceptional client service and quality technical expertise.

Kimley-Horn has completed several projects in St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas—including the St. Petersburg Pier Approach Civil Design; St. Petersburg Complete Streets; the Innovation District Streetscape and Connectivity Concept Plan; 930 Central Flats apartments; Icon Central mixed-use development; Pump Station 122 Gravity Sewer System and Headwall Improvements; an Infiltration and Inflow Study in St. Petersburg Beach; and Pinellas County Flow Monitoring Studies.
Gainesville
Located at the University of Florida’s Innovation Hub, the Gainesville office is increasing Kimley-Horn’s ability to serve our clients in northern Florida in partnership with our Ocala, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee offices. The new office is anchored by employees originally from our Ocala and Fort Lauderdale offices—now all residents of Gainesville with outstanding knowledge of the community’s unique needs. The office’s range of services includes roadway design, land planning, grant writing/administration, transportation planning, and traffic operations.
“The City of Gainesville and Alachua County are growing every day and Kimley-Horn is a perfect fit to aid that growth in a thoughtful, sustainable way,” says Chris Towne, P.E., one of the founding transportation engineers in the Gainesville office. “The new office will allow us to better serve our clients in North Central Florida by focusing on municipal services and economic development projects, and by helping create a safer and smarter transportation network.” The office’s team is rounded out by Allison Megrath, AICP, Ali Brighton, P.E., and Vincent Spahr, E.I.
We are also excited to further cultivate our existing relationship with the University of Florida. Since 2013, the firm has hired 120 UF graduates and currently employs nearly 200 graduates nationwide. Already familiar with the university’s impressive talent pool and programs, we look forward to strengthening our partnership with the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering by joining the Innovation Hub and opening the door for expanded collaboration.
