Agency and Public Involvement Process
The Columbia Pike Multimodal Improvements Project is incorporating the following project management and public involvement activities:
- Interagency and jurisdictional coordination
- Monthly meeting with the project management team (PMT), which includes representatives from Arlington County departments and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT)
- Semi-annual meetings with a larger stakeholder group, including the members of PMT joined by representatives from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
- Representation and participation at periodic meetings of the Pike Transit Initiative, including PMT, Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), and Community Coordinating Committee(CCC) meetings
- Public participation in the design approval process
- Quarterly meetings with the Columbia Pike Implementation Team (CPIT), which includes representatives from civic associations, the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO), Arlington’s Planning Commission and Transportation Commission, and other citizen groups
- Two public meetings (dates to be determined) with interested citizens and business owners
- One official public hearing to communicate the design recommendations of this project, in accordance with VDOT and NEPA requirements
