When will the multimodal project be done?
The planning effort is scheduled to be complete in December of 2011.
Construction will follow appropriate Arlington County approvals.
Will the farmer’s market go on as planned?
Yes.
Will bus service be interrupted?
Until construction begins, we cannot determine any interruptions. Bus service will continue but some bus stops may be affected.
Will access to retail and office space be compromised?
No.
What are the hours of construction?
Prior to construction, the hours of operation will be posted.
Meeting times and locations will be posted on the project home page and the public involvment page.
Attend the posted meetings, join the list serve, and join or attend your local civil civic meeting.

Why is there no mention of a streetcar?
The Columbia Pike Transit Initiative is a separate project. To learn more about the Transit Initiative go to www.piketransit.com.
Do you plan on closing any streets down?
Until construction begins we cannot determine any necessary closures.
What is the benefit of this project?
This project will:
- Accommodate the movement of people
- Implement high quality frequent reliable transit services
- Promote transit-oriented development
- Accommodate the intense recreational, commercial, residential, and institutional traffic
- Serve all travelers on all current and future modes of traffic
- Support the redevelopment of several neighborhoods and commercial nodes along the corridor and South Arlington
Revitalization of this corridor is critical to sustain the growth of South Arlington and to provide the desired multimodal links between the County limits and South Joyce Street at the limits of Pentagon City.
How is the different from any other planning effort?
A multimodal improvement project along this corridor will build upon implemented or in-progress improvements.
