Public Meetings
Public Hearing - March 16, 2011, 4 p.m., Capital
Area MPO Offices
A public hearing will be held on March 16th to discuss the final
recommendations made in the N.C. 50 Corridor Study as well as the next
steps for project implementation. The meeting will be held at the office
of the Capital Area MPO, located in The Professional Building at 127 W.
Hargett Street, Suite 800, Raleigh, NC. Members of the public are
encouraged to attend to learn about the study's findings and potential
next steps.
Public Design Charrette - August 10-12, 2010, Shriners Club (click here for flyer)
A public design charrette was held from August 10-12 at the Amran Shriners Temple on the NC 50 Corridor (11101 Creedmoor Road). At the charrette, members of the public and interested stakeholders helped the design team refine the design plans for NC 50 by sitting down with them and looking over their shoulders. The public was invited to drop in at any time during the day and encouraged to attend each evening’s design pin-up session. Two public workshops were held during the charrette to provide an update of project work to date and summarize the efforts of the charrette. These workshops took place on:
- Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
- Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Project Oversight Committee Meetings
The NC 50 Corridor Study is being led by a Project Oversight Committee (POC) made up of members appointed by the various project partners. The POC members have been asked to help guide the project team throughout the life of the study, acting as a sounding board for findings and recommendations. At crucial points, these members will be asked to endorse key items including goals, objectives, analysis criteria, and alternatives evaluation. POC members are serving as not only as representatives of a specific constituent group, as well as the corridor’s residents and commuters. We encourage you to share the ideas and concepts discussed during our meetings with others so that you can report back what you’re hearing with the rest of the POC and project team.
