San Diego, CA

Kimley-Horn led the design of a complex transit project requiring complete relocation of the busiest LRT station in San Diego, and realigned 1,300 feet of trolley track without interrupting trolley service. An extensive transit plaza was designed, with a detailed phasing plan to allow continuous operation of the border station throughout construction. A new intercity bus facility was designed adjacent to the transit center to serve private bus operators. Kimley-Horn also prepared plans, specifications, and cost estimates for all civil and traffic engineering components of the project and managed a large, multi-disciplinary team of subconsultants.
