Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority
Kimley-Horn has provided airside design, parking, and pavement engineering services to the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority since 1994. Projects have included the full reconstruction of two runways, the reconstruction of TW M for use as a temporary runway while Runway 18L-36R was reconstructed, extension of TW N, reconstruction of TW A, a state of the art ARFF facility, a new electrical vault, expansion of electrical vault #2, several miles of perimeter roadway, and the reconstruction of the terminal apron, which is currently under design. Other tasks included NAVAID modifications, approach lights, a Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (SMGCS), drainage, upgrades for Group VI aircraft, and close coordination with the Memphis Airports district office.
