Kimley-Horn provided planning and design services as part of the capital improvements campaign for the Lowe’s Customer Support Center Campus in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

Beginning as a pavement rehab job for the Lowe’s Customer Support Center Campus, Kimley-Horn was contracted to evaluate the existing pavement and recommend ways to improve an old mall site in Wilkesboro. Through a capital improvements campaign for the Lowe’s Campus and a strong relationship with the executive board, Kimley-Horn was then called upon to re-evaluate the entire site as well as provide outdoor amenities including an outdoor plaza adjacent to the new cafeteria.

Along with large scale revisions to the overall site, Kimley-Horn provided full design services for a pedestrian walk/run route within the campus, new driveways and secure entraces to the site, and a large 1-acre plaza with seating and a water feature. In addition to the large water feature, the plaza includes ample seating, raised limestone planters, decorative lighting, and an array of beautiful natural materials.
