1050 B Street High Rise

Affirmed Housing Group

San Diego, CA

Kimley-Horn assessed the traffic noise level from the adjacent surface streets at the building facades of this downtown affordable housing project. The noise levels and the building plans were used to conduct an interior noise analysis, which was used to generate window and glass door requirements to comply with Title 24 of the California Building Code. A complex traffic model was created for the project, including distinct traffic volumes and vehicle mixes on each lane of the one-way streets surrounding the project, as well as the effects of the stoplights near the project intersections. The analysis also included an evaluation of floor-ceiling and party wall assemblies for compliance with Title 24.
